One of the most insightful communication tips I ever received was when I went to class based on Steven Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People." I believe the habit was: Seek First to Understand and Then to Be Understood. Regardless of gender, whenever there's a disagreement, I think this habit is crucial.
ReplyDeleteAs for men and women...we just often communicate differently. Women often like to talk a lot about what we're feeling. Men just like to get to the point. For example, if a man were answering the question you posed, he might give the one-word answer: Beer. ;-)
